 Elaine Sopko is an award-winning portrait artist and painter of the natural world.  The artist's impressionistic style of painting in oil has evolved through extensive artistic training and through the practical experience of more than 35 years of portrait, floral, and plein air painting.   A graduate of Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and Thomas Edison College, Elaine was also a private student of both Carmela de Fronzo and Margaret Yard. Before moving to Pennsylvania, the artist taught drawing, painting, and portrait painting at NSFIA.


 As a member of the Pocono Arts Council and the Pocono Mountain Arts Council as well as the Come Paint With Me plein air painters,  Elaine has exhibited extensively in Pennsylvania and in New Jersey, where several of her commissioned portraits are on display in public venues.  

             Other Elaine Sopko paintings are in private collections in the United States and Europe.
